Why did you create this site?
We wanted to build a pictorial library of a precious part of music history. If you are familiar with bass player Mo Foster's excellent book 17 Watts? (aka Play Like Elvis!), we hope that this site will become a kind of online equivalent - This means that amusing anecdotes are highly sought after!
Why is the site called Old Wild Men?
- We were looking for a snappier title than...
IMAGES AND STORIES OF FOLKS WHO PLAYED IN AMATEUR AND SEMI-PRO BANDS, GROUPS AND COMBOS DURING THE 1960's AND 1970's... !!!
- They may be old now, but the unsung heroes of rock & roll were once considered wild!
- The song Old Wild Men by 10cc (from the 1974 album Sheet Music) plays homage to aging rockers.
Is my band a good match for your website?
If your band was active in the '60's or '70's AND you are in the photos then we would love to hear from you. It would be great to reunite some band members who haven't seen each other for years!
